It is a fingering weight blend of 50% Organic Extra Fine Merino Wool, 30% Mohair, 20% Silk. This yarn is perfect for light weight sweaters, hat, and scarves.
Here is the first pattern in this yarn.
The Rioja Beret and Scarf
This design takes 1 skein of 2 colors to make the Beret and matching scarf.
We used Winter Blossom (1.75 oz/ 50 gr)
These are the tools you will need for the beret and scarf:
Size 2 (2.75mm) x 16” circular needle for ribbing
Size 3 (3.25mm) x 16” circular needle for body of hat
Size 3 (3.25mm) DPNS for crowing of hat
Size 6 (4mm) x 40” circular needle for scarf
(or needles to get gauge)
Tapestry needle
stitch markers ( one different color marker for BOR)
Tape Measurer or ruler
The construction of the beret is just like any hat but for the crowning you will be making a large X with your decreases.
The Scarf is worked horizontal ( so you will be casting on a lot of stitches) and worked in a rib stitch on a larger needle.
