Baby Bear Bonnet by Knitting For Olive

baby Winter Blossom

Not sure about you all but it is baby season. I have so many friends that have announced their pregnancy recently! I am so excited to get  knitting all kinds of cute baby projects.
I have seen Knitting for Olive's Baby Bear Bonnet Pattern all over Social media and have been wanting to make it. Now I have a reason!

This is such a fun pattern with a very unique but easy construction.

I was able to finish this adorable hat in one evenings knitting!

The pattern calls for a fingering weight yarn double stranded with a mohair lace. I was able to get gauge using our Winter Blossom yarn.

It turned out so elegant I can not wait to give it to my sister-in-law for her new baby boy!

The size I made was for 3 months, I want him to be able to wear it soon after he is born. I can not believe how soft this hat turned out, it will be perfect for a baby's sensitive skin.

Here are the sizes and how much yarn you will need to make one yourself.

Sizes: 1 (3, 6, 9, 12-18, 24) months,

Fit head circumference: Appox 13-14.5 (14.25-15.75, 15.5-17.5, 17-18, 18-19, 19-20)"

For all sizes you will just need 1 skein of Winter Blossom!

Since I liked this one so much and wanted for my sister-in-law to have warmer version I decided to make another one but double stranding Winter Blossom to get a thicker hat.

This one I made the 6 month version knowing that since I double stranded Winter Blossom it would come out to be a little more like a 9 month version.

I used the same needle size as the pattern suggests and it created a really nice warm fabric.

If you are wanting to make a Double stranded version you will just need 2 skeins of 2 colors to make all the sizes!
